Consumer and repair advocates delivered 56,961 signatures on Thursday in support of the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) issuing new rules on Right to Repair. The event precedes the Friday close of the agency’s public comment period on a request for rulemaking. Advocates also delivered messages of support from 500 businesses and organizations. #R2R #FTC #ofcourse #righttorepair

  1. Right to repair should also address the problem with a sicker that says, “if you break this seal you void your warranty.” Otherwise, you can fix things not covered by warranty. Say, your phone has a 1 year battery warranty but the screen is broken. The policy of ‘break the seal, void the warranty’ could void the battery warranty even if it was not truly affected.
